‘Tender Fixing’ In Odisha Raj Bhawan Construction Work, Vigilance Directorate Writes To State Govt For Action

**Bhubaneswar: ** Odisha Vigilance Directorate has written to the State Government for necessary action as deemed fit against a tender fixing allegation with regard to a construction work executed in Raj Bhawan during 2016-17.

In its letter bearing No. 23 dated October 23.2017, the Office of the Odisha Vigilance Director has asked the Engineer-in-Chief-cum-Works Secretary for necessary action and intimate soon.

The allegation has been levelled against the Bhubaneswar R&B Division No. IV Executive Engineer, members of Tender Evaluation Committee and contractor Dillip Kumar Nayak.
The Vigilance Directorate’s urgent letter has also been enclosed with a petition dated 11.08.2017 purportedly filed by Pyari Mohan Pattnaik of Dumuduma in Bhubaneswar.

Pattnaik has brought serious corruption allegation against the Executive Engineer, the Tender Evaluation Committee and the contractor for execution of construction of indoor hall for badminton on the Odisha Raj Bhawan (Governor’s House) premises in the year 2016-17 with an estimated cost of Rs 57,43,444.63.

Terming the tender fixing allegation ‘self-explanatory’, the Vigilance Directorate in the letter has also mentioned, “No enquiry has been conducted by the Works Department.”

Notably, the alleged Executive Engineer has been arrested in the Bomikhal flyover collapse case recently.
