Bhadrak: Tension ran high at a nursing home in Bhadrak district on Monday after a woman allegedly died because of negligence on the part of doctors and nurses.
According to sources, relatives of the deceased woman ransacked the hospital located near Gandhi Padia in the presence of police.
Debasmita Jena, a resident of Asurali was rushed to the nursing home for her delivery. However, she died shortly after giving birth. Holding her family members responsible for the death of Debasmita, her relatives resorted to violence.
Debasmita’s relatives vandalized the hospital, damaging furniture and the doctor’s car, despite the police being present.
Upon being informed, the Additional Superintendent of Police reached the scene.
An investigation into the matter is likely to be conducted to determine the cause of Debasmita’s death and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
