Tension Erupts In Dhinkia Over Boundary Demarcation Of Mahala Revenue Village, 2 Arrested

Jagatsinghpur:  Tension prevailed in Dhinkia panchayat under the Ersama block of Jagatsingpur district today following a violent face-off between the villagers and police.

The villagers who are opposing JSW’s steel plant project also opposed the administration’s move to demarcate the boundary of the newly-created Mahala revenue village under Dhinkia panchayat.

The villagers were angry over the arrests of two villagers of Dhinkia village who are leading the agitation against the JSW project.

Villagers with children opposing the boundary demarcation staged dharna near Jatadhari river mouth and allegedly resorted to stone pelting.

On the other hand, police have arrested Ajodhya Swain uncle of Debendra Swain the Jindal Pratirodha Sangram Samiti (JPSS) leader and his sister Mili Swain.
