Nabarangpur: Tension prevails in B. Gumandali village under Kosagumuda police station limits in Nabarangpur district following the recovery of a blood-soaked body of a minor girl from a field near her home today.
Basing on the circumstances and evidence available at the site of the crime, family members and fellow villagers suspect it to be a case of gangrape and murder, reports said.
As per reports, four men’s trousers have been found at the site of the crime near the body of the deceased minor lying about 300 mts from her home.
The deceased‘s body has several wounds suggesting of a tussle between her and her assaulters.
There are marks of the victim being dragged away from her house before being allegedly raped and murdered.
The incident happened in the intervening night of Friday-Saturday when the victim along with her mother, differently-abled younger sister, and brother were sleeping inside their home. The victim’s father is a migrant labourer who works in Chhattisgarh.
While Kosagumuda police have reached the spot and are investigating the matter, villagers have demanded immediate identification and arrest of the culprits, reports added.
Reports further said that villagers are adamant that they would not allow the police to take the body for post-mortem unless it identifies and arrests the culprits.
