Bhubaneswar: In a significant stride towards fostering a deeper understanding of governance reforms and their impact, 18 students and five organizing team members participating in ‘The Governance Challenge (TGC)’ embarked on a Governance Immersion visit to Krushi Samiksha Kendra at Krushi Bhavan, office of the State Department for Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment in Bhubaneswar, today. This educational initiative was organized by the Electronics & Information Technology Department in collaboration with “Samagra.”
The visit proved to be an enriching experience for the students as they engaged in a thought-provoking interaction with the Director of Agriculture & Food Production, Prem Chandra Chaudhary. The Director shared valuable insights into the pivotal role of agriculture in governance and shed light on the ongoing initiatives geared towards women empowerment within the agricultural sector.
TGC, recognized as India’s first national governance case competition, has chosen ‘Women Empowerment’ as the focal theme for its 2023 edition. After a rigorous selection process involving 3000+ teams and 9000+ students, the final six teams have been shortlisted to present their innovative solutions to Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik, at the Final Summit scheduled to take place in Bhubaneswar on December 11.
The visit to Krushi Samiksha Kendra served as a platform for the students to witness firsthand the impact of governance reforms and gain insights into the complexities of the agricultural sector. Such immersive experiences are designed to motivate and inspire the young participants towards contributing meaningfully to the governance sector.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity, the students and organizing team members were keen to absorb the wealth of knowledge offered by the visit. The tour aimed to showcase landmark achievements and flagship projects of the government, fostering a deeper connection between theoretical concepts and practical implementations.
As part of the Governance Immersion, the group explored various facets of the Krushi Samiksha Kendra, gaining a holistic understanding of the challenges and opportunities present in the agricultural landscape. The interactive session with the Director provided a unique perspective on the intersection of governance, agriculture, and women’s empowerment, aligning seamlessly with the theme of TGC 2023.
