Bhubaneswar: The third phase of the three-tier panchayat elections commenced across Odisha on Sunday. In Cuttack district, the polling is being held in Kantapada, Salepur and Tigiria Blocks. Elections are being held for 212 wards in Kantapada and 564 wards in Salepur.
There are around 3 lakh voters in these three Blocks who are casing their ballot in 993 booths. Similarly, polling is being held for 8 Zilla Parishads, 63 Sarpanch posts, 63 Panchayat Samiti Members, and 993 Ward Members.
In Khurda district, elections are being held in two blocks – Khurda and Chilika blocks where there are 2.08 lakh voters. In both the blocks elections are being held for 6 Zilla Parishads, 39 Sarpanchs, 39 Samiti Members, and 550 Ward Members. Voting is being carried out in 550 booths.
