Bhubaneswar: With the advent of festive season, criminals and anti-socials resort to lawlessness taking advantage of various factors. Keeping it in view, the Odisha Police has decided to take special measures, informed DGP RP Sharma today.

After a discussion with senior officials of the Commissionerate Police, Sharma said that steps will be taken to arrest the absconding criminals and the warrants pending against such anti-socials will also be executed.

"The Commissionerate Police has been asked to book habitual offenders under Section 110 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) and hardcore criminals under the National Security Act," said Sharma.

It has also been decided to take stringent measures against organised crime like arms dealing, drug and ganja trafficking, he added.
