**Bhubaneswar:** Apart from the Puri Rath Yatra, the centre of attraction globally, thousands of devotees also thronged Nayapalli-based ISKCON temple here on Wednesday to take part in the chariot pulling of Lord Jagannath, His elder brother Lord Balabhadra and sister Devi Subhadra.
The dragging of the chariots began at around 4 pm on the day from the temple just beside the busy NH-5 connecting Howrah with Chennai.
At first the chariot of Lord Balabhadra followed by Devi Subhadra were dragged and later the cute chariot of Lord Jagannath followed the suit.
Special arrangements had been made for the Nayapalli-based ISKCON Rath Yatra monitored by an ADCP (additional deputy commissioner of police) of the Commissionerate Police.
For the ISKCON Rath Yatra, traffic was regulated along the NH-5.
Following the main chariot-pulling in addition to some others like at Siripur, Chandrasekharpur and KIIT campus areas, adequate security arrangements had been made by the Commissionerate Police here with the deployment of 20 platoons of police force keeping in view the law and order situation and traffic management in Odisha’s capital city here on the day.
Besides traffic and crowd control, the police force also kept a hawk eye on crimes and criminals.
