Bhubaneswar: In a swift breakthrough, Raghunathpali police on Wednesday arrested three persons for their alleged involvement in a house burglary in Panposh village under Rourkela subdivision of Sundargarh district.
The accused have been identified as Palash Ghosh (21), Bubu alias Amarjeet Singh (24), and Pintu Pradhan (22), all residents of Panposh village under Raghunathpali police station.
According to an official press release, the incident took place on May 21, 2025, at around 7:30 pm. The complainant, Bablu Kumar (25), reported the matter to the police on May 22 at around 9:25 pm.
He stated that his mother, Mini Devi, returned home after work during heavy rainfall, only to find the front door of their house broken and ajar. Upon entering, she discovered that the household items were in disarray and the almirah had been ransacked.
The family reported that Rs 80,000 in cash, approximately 5 grams of gold ornaments, and around 68 grams of silver ornaments had been stolen.
Following the complaint, police launched an investigation which led to the arrest of the three suspects. During the operation, police recovered Rs 40,500 in cash and one pair of gold earrings from the accused.
Further investigation is underway to trace the remaining stolen items and determine if the accused are linked to other similar incidents in the area.
