Three Dead In Separate Drowning Cases In Odisha

Mayurbhanj/Ganjam: In an unfortunate drowning case, two minor girls slept into watery grave in wee hours of Tuesday while they were playing in the fields close to their home. The girls were cousins and were aged three and four.

The deceased have been identified as Subhashree Besra and Sukulamani Besra. They hail from hail from Chandua village in Kaliaani block near Baripada in Mayurbhanj district.

They were rescued by locals and were taken to nearest hospital where the doctor declared them ‘brought dead’. The Police arrived on the scene and have taken the body for autopsy. A further probe is underway.

In another incident, a youth fell to his death at Kanchua canal on early Tuesday. The youth belonged to Kusarab village under Dharakote Police Station. His identification is yet to be ascertained.
