Three Found Dead In Dhenkanal Village

Bhubaneswar: Three persons were found dead inside a house in Khamara village under Sadar police station in Dhenkanal district, on Saturday.

The deceased have been identified as Sankarshan Das, his daughter Subarni Das (40) and his grandson Santosh Das (16), all residents of Khamara village in Chaulia Gram Panchayat.

According to reports, local residents broke open the door of Sankarshan’s house after noticing a foul odor emanating from it. Upon entering, they discovered the bodies of all three individuals hanging inside the house.

Upon receiving the information, the Sadar police seized the bodies and sent them for post-mortem examination. An investigation is currently underway.

Purna Chandra Rout, the Additional Inspector-in-Charge of the Sadar Police Station, stated that they received reports from local residents about a foul odor coming from a house.

“Sankarshan wife informed us that the incident occurred three days ago. Both individuals are mentally challenged and have been staying isolated in their home. They had contacted our outpost multiple times, reporting that locals were threatening them. When we visited their house, they did not open the door. We are now sending the bodies for post-mortem and an investigation into the incident is ongoing,” said the Additional IIC.
