**Bhubaneswar:** Three among the 11 persons accused in attack on police personnel near Bharatpur square under Khandagiri police limits here on Sunday were arrested and court forwarded today.
The three were identified as Shankar Pradhan (27), Santosh Mahakud (19) and Pramod Das (21).
As per reports, yesterday night a car on its way to Andharua via Bharatpur square collided head-on with a bike coming from the opposite direction in which two persons, Shankar Sahu and Brundaban Sahu of a slum in Bharatpur, were critically injured.
Immediately the slum dwellers gathered at the spot and detained the car driver. They started thrashing him and also damaged the vehicle.
On getting information, staff from Khandagiri Police Station reached at the spot and attempted to rescue the card driver. However, instead of cooperating the locals attacked the police accusing them of arriving late.
After conducting a probe of the incident the three accused were held while eight others are still absconding.
