Bhubaneswar: Three persons were killed and another is critically injured in separate road accidents in Odisha during the last 24 hours.
In the first fatal road accident, two motorists were killed after their bike was hit by a Hyva truck near Chhak No 15 on the Paradip-Cuttack road under the Kujanga block of Jagatsinghpur district.
The deceased were identified as Jitendra Pal and Prahallad Bhol, natives of Chhanda and Raghunathpur under Marshaghai police limits. According to reports, the deceased were going to Kujanga from Paradip when a speeding Hyva rammed against their bike and fled the spot.
In the second mishap, a youth was killed and another sustained critical injuries after a bus rammed against a bike near Mahadev Chhak on Jaleswar-Chandaneswar road in Balasore.
The deceased has been identified as a resident of the Udayapur area under the Talasari Marine police limits of Balasore.
According to reports, the private bus from Berhampur to Chandaneswar hit the bike coming from Jaleswar, injuring the rider critically. Locals rushed them and shifted to Jaleswarpur Community Health Centre (CHC) for medical treatment where the doctors declared one person ‘brought dead’.
