Bhubaneswar: With the mercury rising, three places in Odisha recorded day temperatures of 38°C and above on Sunday. While the maximum temperature in Malkangiri was 38°C, Titilagarh was hotter at 38.2°C. Bolangir recorded the highest maximum temperature of 38.5°C.
Koraput recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 14.6°C.
According to the regional center of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), while the maximum temperature is likely to rise by 3°C to 4°C in many parts of the state during the next four days, the maximum temperatures in some districts are likely to touch 40°C by the end of March.
On the other hand, the IMD predicted that light rain or thundershower is likely to occur at one or two places in some Odisha districts on Monday and Tuesday.
