Malkangiri: Three Maoists were killed in an encounter by the security forces in a forest in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh bordering Odisha.
Nationals media reported the incident quoting police sources.
Kanker Superintendent of Police Indira Kalyan Elesela said, “Face-off took place in a forest in the Koyalibeda area when a joint team of the District Reserve Guard and the Border Security Force was out on an anti-Naxal operation.”
“So far, bodies of three rebels were recovered while two weapons have been seized from the encounter site. The combing operation is underway. The security personnel are safe,” police added.
The security forces clashed with the extremists in Koilibeda Hurutarai forest in Kanker during a combing operation.
