Rourkela: Three children, aged between 10 and 12 years, drowned at Hamirpur Ghat of the Koel River near Sector 19 in Odisha’s Rourkela on Sunday. While Fire Services personnel succeeded in rescuing two children, they are yet to trace the whereabouts of the third child.
According to reports, the three children went to bathe in Koel River at Hamirpur Ghat around 2.00 pm on Sunday. Despite the low water level, they drowned in the river.
On being informed, Fire Services personnel rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. While they could rescue two drowned children, search operation is underway for the third victim.
