Sundargarh: Three more persons have tested positive for scrub typhus in Odisha’s Sundargarh district in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases in the district to 183 on Monday.
It is pertinent to mention here that so far seven persons have succumbed to this vector-borne disease in the state – six in Bargarh district and one in Sundargarh.
According to reports, most of the patients in the Sundargarh district are from the Sundargarh Sadar and Balishankara blocks. So far, one patient has succumbed to the disease in the district.
Earlier, Sundargarh CDMO assured that there is ample stock of medicines for the patients and a special team of doctors has been pressed into service to attend to the scrub virus patients in the district. At the same time, a sensitisation programme was organised in Sundargarh district for doctors on Friday with a view to check the disease from spreading.
