Bhubaneswar: With the detection of three fresh active COVID cases in Odisha during the last 24 hours, the total number of patients in the state has gone up to 27.
According to official sources, all the patients have been infected by JN.1, a sub-variant of Omicron, and have mild symptoms. They are undergoing treatment in home isolation.
Meanwhile, the number of active COVID patients in India is 4,440 with the detection of 125 new active cases. Karnataka reported 111 new active COVID cases, which is the highest in the country.
Altogether five patients succumbed to their infection in four states during the last 24 hours. While Kerala reported two deaths, Karnataka, Punjab, and Tamil Nadu reported one death each.
The Odisha Health & FW Department has advised people, especially the elderly with comorbidities, to wear masks and avoid visiting crowded places. In general, people have been advised to undergo a COVID test if they are suffering from symptoms like persistent fever, common colds, and cough.
