Three Theft Rackets Busted In Separate Incidents By Dhenkanal Police

Dhenkanal: Six people were arrested by Dhenkanal Police in connection with three separate incidents of theft of laterite stones, scrap material and water pipes.

Under Nihalprasad police limits, one mini truck with 50 pieces of laterite stone was seized on October 21. The police team spotted the loaded truck between villages Bega and Baidyakateni. The truck driver-cum-owner Himanshu Sekhar Nath (48) was arrested for carrying the stones without valid authority.

Again, on October 21, the staff of Kantabania police had received a tip-off of a pick-up truck carrying iron scraps material. The police team detained the truck on NH 55 which was found to be carrying 4610 kg scraps material at BRG square. During the course of the investigation, it was found that the scrap materials were stolen from Lanco Power plant. Police seized aforementioned articles and arrested the accused driver Sache Lal (23), and forwarded him to the court.

In the third such case under Dhenkanal Sadar Police limits, four accused who had stolen 650 pieces of pipes were arrested. One Susanta Kumar Das had complained that he had taken contract work of Voltax company Mega water irrigation project and had kept 800 pieces of pipes. Out of these 650 pieces were stolen.

At about 10.30 PM on October 21, Das spotted the truck and informed the police. The police apprehended the accused persons and seized the stolen pipes. The arrestees, namely Yadav (24), Ambuja Kumar Sahoo (50), Abhiram Behera (42) and Rajesh Ch Routray (38), have been arrested and forwarded to Court. Further investigation in the case is going on.
