Bhubaneswar: With the second session of the 17th Odisha Assembly beginning tomorrow, the Director General of Police Yogesh Bahadur Khurania today reviewed the security arrangement at the State Legislative Assembly to ensure an incident-free session.
According to the DGP, a three-layered security arrangement has been put on place in and around the Odisha Legislative Assembly ahead of the winter session.
“The Commissionerate Police has made extensive arrangements for the Assembly session which is going to begin from tomorrow. Three-tier security arrangements have been put in place for the Assembly session to enforce law and order. As many as 30 platoons of police force and more than 300 officers will be deployed for the security of the state Assembly during the session. Adequate security arrangements have also been made at the designated places for dharna,” informed Khurania after reviewing the security measures.
Police commissioner S Dev Datta Singh, ADG (Law & Order) Sanjay Kumar and Bhubaneswar DCP Pinak Mishra along with other senior police officials were also present there.
It also learnt that security has also been tightened at bus stops and other key junctions of the city to avoid any untoward incidents during the Assembly session.
