Bhubaneswar: Three women were arrested by Nayapalli Police in Bhubaneswar on Thursday for holding a kangaroo court at Salia Sahi area in the capital city.
The trio identified as Sarojini Sahu, Anita Nayak, and Kabita Bhuyan was accused of punishing two children in public and had fined them Rs 5000.
Reportedly, the three were accused of holding a kangaroo court to decide the quarrel between the young children and imposed a fine of Rs 5000 on the guilty.
They allegedly threatened to ostracize the family of the guilty if they refuse to pay the fine. On being informed, police reached the area and arrested the trio.
