Bhubaneswar: Thundershower with lightning is likely to affect 11 districts of Odisha including the cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack within the next three hours, according to a nowcast warning issued by the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD’s) regional centre at 4.15 PM.
Moderate rain/thundershower with lightning and one or two intense spells of rain are likely to affect some districts of Cuttack (including Cuttack City), Khordha (including Bhubaneswar City), Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak within the next three hours, the IMD said.
The Met department has issued an ‘Orange’ warning for the aforementioned places.
Similarly, light to moderate rain/thundershower with lightning is likely to affect parts of the districts of Ganjam, Nayagarh, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, and Mayurbhanj within the next three hours, the Met department said.
The department has issued a ‘Yellow’ warning for the aforementioned places.
Further, the IMD has advised people to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
