Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bhubaneswar, has issued a Yellow Warning at 7.10 PM on Saturday for light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by lightning in parts of coastal Odisha over the next three hours.
According to the Nowcast Warning issued by Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, rain and lightning are very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Kendrapara, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack (including Cuttack city) and Khordha (including Bhubaneswar city).
Residents in these areas have been advised to remain alert to changing weather conditions and move to safer locations if necessary to protect themselves from possible lightning strikes.
The IMD’s duty officer urged people, especially those working outdoors or in open areas, to take necessary precautions during the period of expected thunderstorm activity.
