Thundershowers Likely In Several Odisha Districts From Nov 15-17

Bhubaneswar: The upper air cyclonic circulation over the south Andaman Sea extending up to middle tropospheric levels is tilting southwestwards with height. Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form over southeast Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over west-central Bay of Bengal around November 16, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its midday bulletin on Monday.

Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed over the districts of Odisha during the last 24 hours. The minimum temperatures (night temperatures) observed no major change over the districts of Odisha. They were below normal at one or two places, appreciably above normal at one or two places, above normal at a few places in interior Odisha, above normal at many places over the districts of coastal Odisha, and normal elsewhere in the state.

The highest maximum temperature of 33.6°C was recorded at Paradip and the lowest minimum temperature of 13.6°C was recorded at Nabarangpur in the plains of Odisha.

Weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha:

Day 1: (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 14.11.2023)

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.

Day 2: (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 14.11.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 15.11.2023)

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.

Day 3: (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 15.11.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 16.11.2023)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Puri, Jagatsinghpur and at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Khurda, Cuttack, and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Day 4: (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 16.11.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 17.11.2023)

Light to moderate rain/ thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Ganjam, Khurda, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Bhadrak, and at a few places over the rest districts of coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Rayagada, Dhenkanal, and Kandhamal.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, and Cuttack.

Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 17.11.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 18.11.2023)

Light to moderate rain/ thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and at a few places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Angul, Puri, and at one or two places over the districts of Boudh, Sundargarh, Ganjam, Deogarh, Khurda, and Nayagarh. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be updated) Thunderstorm with lightening is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Khurda, Puri, and Dhenkanal.

Day 6: (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 18.11.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 19.11.2023)

Light to moderate rain/ thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, and Jajpur, and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Day 7: (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 19.11.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 20.11.2023)

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.
