Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty winds with speed reaching upto 40-50 kmph is likely to occur in several parts of Odisha till June 6, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

As per the IMD bulletin, thundersquall is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Sundergarh, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Koraput, and Kandhamal in the next 24 hours.

Likewise, heavy rainfall is likely to lash at one or two places over the districts of Jajpur, Keonjhar, Bhadrak and Dhenkanal.

However, heat wave continues to prevail in several parts of the State with 10 stations recording temperature above 40 degree Celsius today.

The highest temperature of 43.8°C was recorded at Titlagarh followed by 43.0°C at Bhawanipatna and Bolangir, 42.9°C at Sambalpur, 42.4°C at Talcher and Malkangiri, 42.1°C at Hirakud, 41.1°C at Angul, 41.0°C at Sonepur and 40.4°C at Jharsuguda.
