Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for 11 districts in Odisha, including Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, forecasting light to moderate thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds with speeds of 30-40 km/h over the next two to three hours.
According to the IMD’s nowcast warning, the following districts are likely to experience light to moderate thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Khordha (including Bhubaneswar city), Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, and Koraput. Additionally, light to moderate rainfall is expected in these areas. The alert remains valid until 3.45 pm.
In light of these conditions, the IMD has advised residents to stay vigilant and monitor the weather closely.
People are urged to take necessary precautions to protect themselves from lightning strikes and to be prepared to move to safer locations if needed.
