Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm activities are likely in several parts of Odisha over the next five days, according to the midday weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The weather agency has issued a ‘yellow’ alert for several parts of the state in this connection till Friday.
Weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha for the next five days:
Day 1 (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 07.06.2023)
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur in a few places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal and at one or two places over the rest districts.
YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) 1. Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal. 2. Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangapur, Dhenkanal.
Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 07.06.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 08.06.2023)
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj,Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Thunderstorms with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal.
Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 08.06.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 09.06.2023)
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
YELLOW WARNING : ( BE UPDATED) Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj.
Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 09.06.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 10.06.2023)
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Cuttack and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 10.06.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 11.06.2023)
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangapur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
Further, the IMD has said that there shall be no large change in Maximum temperature (Day temperature) during the next 5 days. It is likely to be 42°C or more at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha during the next 5 days.
