Bhubaneswar: Amid the prevailing heat wave condition across Odisha, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has some good news for the people of the state. According to an IMD bulletin, several districts of Odisha may get respite from the sizzling heat as thunderstorms are likely on Monday.
The IMD has forecast thunderstorms with lightning at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Angul, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri districts today.
In addition, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places in Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Balasore, Bhadrak and Kendrapara districts.
Maximum temperature (day temperature) is likely to drop slightly by 2°C -3°C during the next three days, while no major change is likely thereafter. The maximum temperature is likely to be 40°C and more and above normal by 2°C -3°C at a few places over the districts of Odisha.
