Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning for four Odisha districts, predicting light to moderate thunderstorms with lightning and rain accompanied by gusty surface winds within three hours.
According to the nowcast warning issued by the IMD at 1:50 PM, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, and Kandhamal will be affected by thunderstorms with lightning.
The weather department has advised residents to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strikes.
Residents in the affected districts are advised to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety. This includes staying indoors during the storm, avoiding travel unless necessary, and keeping away from windows, doors, and exterior walls.
