Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department has issued a nowcast warning for moderate thunderstorms with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph and light to moderate rain within two to three hours.
As per the nowcast warning issued by the IMD at 13:50 pm, Koraput, Mayurbhanj, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati and Boudh will be affected by the inclement weather conditions. These districts have been issued an orange warning.
Under its impact, minor damage to loose, unsecured structures, and minor damage to banana trees. Some damage to standing crops may occur. People are advised to keep a watch on the weather for worsening conditions and be ready to move to safer places accordingly.
