Bhubaneswar: The regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here Sunday forecasted that most districts of north and south Odisha will experience thunderstorms and lightning rain for the next five days. However, there is unlikely to be any major change in the maximum temperature (day temperature) at many places in Odisha and it is likely to be around 42°C at one or two places in interior Odisha during the next five days.
The IMD has issued a yellow warning stating that the wind speed is likely to be around 40 to 50 km per hour during rain. Such weather is prevailing in the state owing to the influence of Kalbaishakhi. Heavy rainfall warning has been issued in 14 districts of Odisha for Sunday. The yellow warning has been issued for Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, and Kandhamal.
Along with this, the IMD has issued a yellow warning thunderstorm warning for Keonjhar, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, and Angul districts and for 10 districts for May 29 to June 2.
On the other hand, the temperature will increase by 2°C to 3°C in some districts of interior Odisha during the next few days.
May 29 to June 2: Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of south coastal Odisha, Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.
Bhubaneswar and neighbourhood areas will experience partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thunderstorm. Maximum and Minimum temperature is very likely to be around 37°C and 24°C respectively during the next 24 hours.
