Boudh: Skins of a tiger and a leopard were seized by a team of STF with the help of forest officials of Boudh Forest Division in Boudh district on Tuesday.
Based on reliable input regarding the dealing/possession of wildlife products by wildlife criminals, the STF and forest officials conducted a raid near Saluki Bridge under Boudh Town Police Station.
As a result, one wildlife criminal namely Himalaya Dash of Olanda village under Badagoan police limits of the district was apprehended.
During the search, two skins, one of tiger and another of leopard, and other incriminating materials were recovered from his possession.
Dash could not produce any authority in support of the possession of the skins, for which was arrested. He will be forwarded to the Court of SDJM, Boudh.
The skins will be sent to Director WII, Dehradun for biological examination. Further investigation is underway.
