Keonjhar: Forest Department has seized the skin of a tiger from the possession of a villager at Budhipada under Daitari police limits of Keonjhar district. The accused villager identified as Butu Mahakud has been apprehended.
Reportedly, the forest officials were tracking Mahakud for the last few days after a tip-off that he possesses the skin of a tiger. They raided his home last night and seized the tiger skin.
Mahakud managed to flee from his home but was nabbed from Sunapentha in Harichandanpur block of the district. He was again brought to the village for further investigation.
He revealed that two more persons are involved in the crime and the tiger had been poisoned by his father. Further details can be revealed only after investigation, said the DFO.
