Kandhamal: To ensure a peaceful and smooth Christmas and New Year celebration in Kandhamal, the district administration will strengthen security and implement special traffic measures.
Speaking to the media, the Kandhamal District Collector Amrit Ruturaj, urged people to maintain peace and follow the law during the celebrations. He explained that a meeting had been held with the police department and other administrative officials to discuss plans for managing the upcoming celebrations.
“We discussed various measures, including how to control the spread of fake news and audio clips. We are taking necessary steps to ensure peaceful celebrations across all communities,” he said.
Ruturaj added that local leaders, including Block-level IICs, BDOs, and Tehsildars, will work together to manage the situation. WhatsApp groups will be created to help resolve issues quickly. He reassured the public that both the Christmas and New Year celebrations will be peaceful and well-managed.
Kandhamal’s Superintendent of Police Harisha BC, also addressed the media, confirming that security arrangements will be in place for the celebrations.
“Consistent with previous years, we have put in place comprehensive security arrangements. Our IICs and SDPOs are vigilant and prepared to maintain law and order, allowing everyone to celebrate Christmas and New Year without worry.”
