Bhubaneswar: In light of the upcoming Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti celebrations, police personnel have intensified security measures in the sensitive Motijharan area under Dhanupali police station in Sambalpur.
The area is being closely monitored with the help of drones, a dog squad, and a bomb squad, ensuring tight surveillance as the festivals approach. Ram Navami is scheduled to begin on April 11, followed by Hanuman Jayanti on April 12.
“For the Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti celebrations, we are establishing an integrated control room. This will allow us to monitor CCTV cameras through artificial intelligence. We have identified around 49 critical locations, installed 160 cameras, arranged 22 drones, and mobilized other intelligence resources. Our primary goal is to ensure that the celebrations are conducted peacefully,” said Sambalpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Mukesh Bhamu while speaking to the media.
The SP also mentioned that peace committee meetings have already been held.
“CCTV cameras and drones are being continuously monitored as part of our 24/7 surveillance initiative. This is to ensure complete security and a peaceful environment during the festivities,” the SP added.
