Bhubaneswar: The tigress Zeenat has now reached the West Bengal border. However, its exact location cannot be tracked due to the unavailability of the Global Positioning System (GPS) in some areas, as the GPS technology has failed in many places, according to the Forest and Environment minister Ganesh Ram Singhkhuntia.
Speaking to the media, Minister Singhkhuntia explained that the forest departments of West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha are closely monitoring Zeenat’s movements with the help of GPS.
“The forest departments of the three states are monitoring the tigress’ movements closely using GPS, and we are making every effort to capture her by tranquilizing her,” said the minister.
He also noted that GPS systems are not functioning properly in certain areas, which is why the tigress’ movements are difficult to track.
“In many places, the GPS is not working properly, which is why the tracking fails, and Zeenat moves to other areas. We are continuing our efforts, and I assure you that we will capture her in the future,” the minister added.
