Balasore: In a shocking incident of twin murder reported from Garasanga village under Simulia police limits in Balasore district, an intoxicated man allegedly killed his parents over a land dispute.
According to sources, Bulei Behera (90) and his wife Champa Behera (75) had gone missing for the last four days. Mamata Mallick, daughter Bulei and Champa, filed a missing complaint with Simulia police in this regard. She has accused her brother Ramesh Behera of killing her parents.
Based on Mamata’s complaint, police began an investigation into it. Police recovered the body of Bulei in front of his house while Champa’s body is yet to be traced.
As per reports, police Thursday night dug a place in front of his house after smelling foul. To their utter surprise, they recovered the Bulei’s body. The recovery of Bulei’s body was carried out in the presence of Magistrate Sandeep Subhadarshan Bhol, Simulia IIC Swarnalata Minj and a scientific team.
Police suspect that Ramesh buried the bodies of the elderly parents to destroy the murder evidence against him before fleeing the scene.
It is suspected that Ramesh might have dumped his mother’s body in a nearby pond and left the place to escape arrest.
It is learnt that Ramesh is involved in the smuggling of ganja and liquor. He was not on good terms with his parents and siblings over land disputes. His wife and child had left him 17 years back due to his rough behaviour towards them. He used to beat his parents in inebriated conditions.
