Jagatsingpur: One Somalika Dash, aged 29 years has lodged a complaint with Jagatsinghpur police against Tirtol MLA Bijay Shankar Das for having ditched her despite both having applied for marriage at the Registrar of Marriage office in Jagatsinghpur.
Reportedly, both Bijay and Somalika had applied for marriage at the Registrar of Marriage office on May 17. As per the date, on June 17 they should have appeared before the Registrar for the marriage. However, Bijay did not reach the Registrar’s office for marriage even though Somalika was there on time.
A seemingly crestfallen and dejected Somalika after being ditched lodged a complaint against Bijay at the Jagatsinghpur police station on June 17 (Friday).
Jagatsinghpur police have registered the complaint for registering of FIR under section 154(1) of CrPC for offences committed by main accused Bijay Shankar Das under sections 420, 195A, 506(B), 294, 509, 341, 120B read with 34 of IPC and sections 3,4,5,6 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act of 1956.
” I have lodged a complaint against him today. I have faith in the police. They will take stringent action and deliver justice to me,” said Somalika to reporters at the Jagatsinghpur police station.
