Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths uncovered significant disproportionate assets belonging to Dileswar Majhi, Assistant Executive Engineer of Titlagarh R&B Sub-Division under Kantabanji R&B Division, Bolangir.
Simultaneous searches were conducted at six locations in Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, and Balangir districts today based on the allegations of the acquisition of disproportionate assets.
Unearthed Assets include:
- One double-storeyed building (4,500 sqft) in Sambalpur Town’s Sarla area, with a beauty parlour on the ground floor operated by Majhi’s spouse.
- Another double-storeyed building (6,300 sqft) at Brajaraj Nagar Unit-II
- Two buildings at Lahandapur, Jharsuguda
- A market complex (approx. 900 sqft) with four shops at Brajarajnagar Unit-II, Jharsuguda
- Nine plots, including one in Sambalpur, one in Brajaraj Nagar, six on the outskirts of Sambalpur town, and one in Badmal, Jharsuguda
- Cash: ₹6,57,500
- Gold: approximately 300 grams
- One four-wheeler (Swift Desire)
- Two two-wheelers
- ₹20 lakhs in bank deposits, with other deposits and investments being ascertained
A team of 5 Deputy Superintendents of Police, eight Inspectors, two Assistant Sub-Inspectors, and other supporting staff, armed with search warrants issued by the Special Judge of Vigilance, Baangir, carried out the operation.
The investigation is ongoing, and further reports are awaited.
