Toddler Drowns In Koraput Village

Jeypore: A three-year-old boy drowned in the Hardoli river at Hardoli village under Jeypore Sadar Police Station limits in Koraput district on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Vishnu Jani, grandson of Damburu Jani.

According to the grandfather, Vishnu suddenly slipped into the river at around 4.30 pm.

Local residents promptly rushed the boy to Koraput District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Following the incident, Sadar police reached the spot, registered a case, and sent the body for a post-mortem examination.

“We will hand over the body to the family after completion of the post-mortem tomorrow,” said Sachindra Pradhan, Inspector-in-Charge of Jeypore Sadar Police Station.
