Bhubaneswar: Anticipating heavy footfall and traffic congestion during Shivratri (Jagar Yatra) at Akhandalamani Temple on February 15, Bhadrak Police on Saturday issued a comprehensive traffic advisory and announced elaborate security arrangements to ensure smooth movement and public safety.
Bhadrak SP Manoj Kumar Rout, along with senior police officials, conducted a ground review of the temple area and surrounding routes to assess preparedness ahead of the festival. Speaking to reporters, the SP said the primary focus of the administration is effective crowd management and the safety of devotees.
“Our main goal is to manage the crowd in a systematic manner. All necessary precautions have been taken. A civil squad will be deployed, CCTV cameras will be installed at 30 locations, drones will be used for aerial surveillance, and a dedicated control room will be set up in front of the temple to monitor the situation,” Rout said.
Police said special traffic arrangements have been made for vehicles coming from Bhadrak, Kendrapara and Jajpur via Olanga Math. Designated parking zones have been identified to prevent congestion near the temple premises, and diversions will be enforced as per the advisory.

In addition to on-ground deployment, coordination has also been initiated with other temples across the district to ensure smooth conduct of Shivratri celebrations, SP Rout said.
Devotees have been urged to follow traffic regulations, park vehicles only in authorised areas and cooperate with police personnel on duty. Authorities expressed confidence that with proper planning and public cooperation, the festival will be conducted in a safe and orderly manner.
