Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the annual Snana Purnima festival scheduled for June 11, 2025, the Puri Police have issued a detailed traffic advisory to regulate vehicle movement and ensure smooth management of the expected large influx of devotees.
According to the advisory, specific routes and parking zones have been designated for light motor vehicles and two-wheelers arriving from Brahmagiri, Bhubaneswar, and Konark.
For vehicles coming from the Brahmagiri side, light motor vehicles will take a right turn at Mangalaghata, proceed towards Sterling Chhak, continue along Beach Road up to Lighthouse Chhak, and park at the Yatrika Parking area. These vehicles will return via the same route.
Vehicles arriving from Bhubaneswar will proceed to the Jail Road Parking and Saradhabali Open Ground Parking through the route that includes Batagaon, Charinala, Atharnala, Kumbharapada Police Station, Medical Chhaka, and Badasankha. Once these parking areas reach full capacity, the vehicles will be diverted to alternate locations including Yatrika Parking, Digabareni Parking, Blue Flag Beach Parking, and Neelachal Ashok Parking. Vehicles will be required to return using the same entry route.
Devotees approaching from the Konark side will head to the Saradhabali Open Ground Parking via Baidas Nagar, Toshali Sands Chhaka, Grid Station Chhaka, Balighat Chhak, Sidhhamahaveer Chhak, and Matiapada Chhak. After this parking zone is filled, vehicles will be redirected to Talabania Parking and ITI Parking via Grid Station Chhak and Shudan Chhak. The return route will remain the same.
For two-wheelers, the police have designated a separate plan. Motorcycles will access the Grand Road through Atharnala, Banamber Chhak, Kumbharapada Police Station, and Hospital Chhaka, with parking available at the Municipality Market Complex on a first-come, first-served basis. Once this parking lot reaches capacity, two-wheelers will be diverted to the Old Jagannath Ballav Parking area.
The Puri Police have appealed to the public to strictly follow the advisory and cooperate with traffic personnel to ensure a peaceful and well-coordinated celebration.
