Bhubaneswar: A day after violent clash between Police officials and public over implementation of Motor Vehicle Act (2019), Commissionerate Police have yet again proved that implementing laws is not for collecting revenue but the main objective is road safety.

Bhubaneswar Central MLA Ananta Narayan Jena was fined on Sunday for unauthorized parking near Capital’s AG Square. The legislator was, reportedly, fined for Rs 500 in the presence of DCP. Jena too obliged in accordance to the law.

Accepting the fault, Jena said, "My driver had parked the vehicle illegally on road and hence was penalized. Everybody is equal in the eyes of law.”

In another traffic violation case, a Fire service official was fined for driving on wrong side of the road in Chandrasekharpur area of the City. He was also fined for Rs 500 for his error.
