Bhubaneswar: Security has been beefed up in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack before the Republic Day celebrations in the Twin Cities Several on January 26. As a part of the security measures, several traffic restrictions will be imposed in Bhubaneswar keeping in few the seamless conduct of the state-level Republic Day parade at the Mahatma Gandhi Marg here.
The restrictions will be imposed by the Twin City Commissionerate Police on Republic Day. The details of the traffic restrictions are given below.
Heavy vehicles will be banned on the Janpath from Ram Mandir to Rajmahal from 6.30 am on January 26 till the parade is over. Light vehicles will be allowed to ply on the Janpath but only from the Master Canteen Square.
Movement of all vehicles coming towards Rabindra Mandap crossing from the Housing Board crossing side will be stopped from 6.30 am onwards on January 26. The vehicles will be diverted at Keshari Talkies crossing to the left side lane.
Movement of vehicles towards PMG Square from A.G. Square and Jaydev Bhawan crossing will be diverted from 6.30 am onwards.
Vehicles coming from the 120 Infantry Battalion crossing will be diverted towards Unit-4 at MLA colony crossing from 6.30 am.
All the lanes leading to Mahatma Gandhi Marg will be sealed and only pedestrians will be allowed to go towards Mahatma Gandhi Marg.
