Bhubaneswar: An accident in the wee hours of Monday near Chitrada-Dantiamunha road under Morada police limits in Mayurbhanj district claimed the lives of two young individuals.
As per the report, the accident took place when the bike, carrying riders, lost control and crashed into a palm tree on the roadside before plummeting into a nearby pond.
Locals spotted the bike in the pond this morning, prompting them to alert the Chitrada Forest Range officer. Subsequently, the police and fire department teams were dispatched to the scene.
The fire brigade team retrieved the bodies from the pond and took the bodies to the nearby hospital where they were declared dead. The police have seized the bike and initiated an investigation into the incident.
However, the identities of the deceased are yet to be determined.
