Tragic Mishap: Class V Student Dies After Concrete Slab Falls On Him In Balasore

Bhubaneswar: A Class V student reportedly died after a concrete slab fell on him during school hours in Baliapal block in Balasore district.

The deceased has been identified as Prahlad Dhala, a student of Badas Upper Primary School in the block.

According to reports, the incident occurred when the concrete slab, installed as part of construction work for a new school building under the ‘Ame Odisha Nabin Odisha’ initiative, suddenly collapsed on Prahlad while he was playing with his friends during mid-day meal break.

The injured student was rushed to the Baliapal IDCO Community Health Centre. As his condition deteriorated, he was subsequently shifted to the AIIMS at Remuna where he succumbed to his injuries.

The incident has sent shockwaves in the local community, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
