Bhubaneswar: A transgender allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself with a scarf around her neck at Phasiguda village under Digapahandi police station in Ganjam district.

The transgender has been identified as Archita Bisoi.

As per reports, Archita participated in a Danda Nacha (a traditional dance) performance in the village the previous day. She had taken rest in a house in the village last night. When she failed to respond to calls on Saturday morning, the committee members and villagers broke open the door and were shocked to find Archita’s hanging body.

Upon receiving information, the Digapahandi police rushed to the scene and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
