Bhubaneswar: In a gruesome incident, a transgender was allegedly stabbed to death brutally near CIFA under the jurisdiction of Pipili police station on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar last night.
The deceased has been identified as Anjali, a resident of Salepur and was residing in Bhubaneswar for some time.
According to reports, Anjali was attacked by two miscreants on a bike. They stabbed her with a knife and left her to writhe in pain near a sand pile. However, Anjali miraculously regained consciousness and managed to call her friends. Anjali’s companions found her lying in a pool of blood with critical injuries and rushed her to the Capital Hospital. Unfortunately, she was declared dead by doctors.
Upon being informed, Pipili police have launched an investigation into the incident to ascertain the motive behind the murder.
Police have, meanwhile, seized the victim’s mobile phone and are checking detail call records as part of the probe. Besides, police are also checking CCTV footage from around CIFA and nearby areas to track down the accused.
