Puri: A participant at the triathlon being organised at Ramchandi on the Puri-Konark marine drive died today.
The deceased has been identified as Nitin Soni of Jodhpur in Rajasthan and was residing in Mumbai,reports said.
A triathlon is a single race, consisting of swimming, biking and running.
During the event, suddenly, Soni reportedly fell ill and wished to go to the hotel where he was staying. However, he was rushed to the Government Hospital at Konark by the organisers of the event.
As his health condition deteriorated he was shifted to the district headquarters hospital here.
However, he was declared brought dead by the attending doctors.
Soni’s family has been informed about his demise. His body has been preserved at the morgue here and will be handed over to his family on their arrival, reports said.
