Keonjhar: A tribal minor boy on Wednesday submitted a written complaint with the Keonjhar SP Mitrabhanu Mahapatra alleging the former was administered to third degree torture at Patna Police Station on November 21.
As per the complaint, Aman Nayak (16) of Kameswarpurpatna village under Patna police limits had been summoned to the police station on November 21 in connection with a theft case. When he reached the police station with his family members, the police said that he will be released shortly after interrogation. Aman was released at around 4 PM but family members found him with serious injuries on his legs.
Later in the day, Aman was admitted to a hospital. After recovery from his injuries, he and his mother met the SP, who has asked them to approach the court. Keonjhar SP Mitrabhanu Mahapatra has ordered a probe into the alleged torture of the minor boy. Mahapatra directed Ghatagaon SDPO to probe the incident and submit a report within a week.
